Jane Brace is a former BBC-TV journalist now specialising in music publicity for independent artists. For the past 20 years she has been a self-employed journalist and publicist, specialising in arts and music publicity, TV publicity for Discovery and Meridian and prime time drama for BBC 1, including co-productions for the Canadian Broadcasting Commission.
She is currently publicity manager for the acclaimed acoustic band Show of Hands, winners of Best Duo and Best Original Song at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards – a band that has achieved a quadruple Royal Albert Hall sell out – and publicist for double 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winner Tim Edey (Musician of the Year and Best Duo with Brendan Power).
She has worked with several BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winners and nominees including Jackie Oates and Pilgrims’ Way. Current clients include 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Group winners The Young’ uns , 2014 Best Duo winners Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, 2014 Musician of the Year nominee Will Pound, 2012 Musician of the Year winner Tim Edey and 2013 double nominee Luke Jackson. She has also carried out event publicity for UK folk festivals including Bristol and Derby and in 2016 will work with the FolkEast team.
